Krystal International Vacation Club reviews some great restaurants close by the Cancun Resort.
Everybody knows that one of the real pleasures in exploring new places is getting to know the local culture by trying out the local cuisine. With that in mind, we have several options for you to try that are all located conveniently in the Hotel Zone of Cancun, and they all come in at different price points so they can fit everyone’s budget.
Krystal International Vacation Club top picks
The first place we recommend may be considered a hole-in-the-wall type of place by many, but they serve great food in a lively atmosphere.
The Surfin Burrito is a favorite of locals and visitors alike due to the extreme freshness of its food, the low prices and the fact that everyone who visits here gets treated like family. Favorite items on the menu, besides the burritos, of course, include the mahi-mahi burger, chicken nachos, and other fast food seafood dishes. So if you’re looking for a fun atmosphere and some of the most inexpensive yet tasty and freshest seafood in town, head to The Surfin Burrito and don’t forget to try one or two of their margaritas to wash down all that good food.
The next recommendation for dining is a bit more expensive, but here you will find great food and a more intimate and romantic dining atmosphere including waterfront seating. Another great place that comes highly recommended is Porfirio’s restaurant mostly because of the way they mix traditional Mexican fare with a modern twist. The menu is extensive with options to suit everyone, and both staff and management are very engaging, fun and enlightening to learn about things to do in Cancun. This restaurant is decently priced, the food is delicious, and the staff is fantastic including the hostesses. At Porfirio’s, the atmosphere can change from a romantic corner table on the water for two to a fun and lively table of twelve in the center dining room, so just be sure to let them know the type of experience you are looking for, and they will cater to your every need.
We have one more recommendation, and this is the most expensive of the three but well worth it if you are looking for a dining experience you will never forget.
Puerto Madero is an Argentinian Fish and Steak House that is always ranked in the top five restaurants in Cancun. Here you will find a clean, and crisp interior with white chairs, white accents, and a beautiful bar area. The restaurant also boasts an impressive patio overlooking the Carribean sea, so reservations timed to sunset will make the experience even more unforgettable. Besides its consistently excellent food, Puerto Madero is also known for its superb service, fantastic exotic cocktails, and above average wine list.
So whether you want to spend a little or a lot on your dining experiences in Cancun, these three options in the Hotel Zone are sure to please even to the most discerning international traveler.
